Cawl Erfyn Efflwfia is the Welsh version of Hergé’s masterpiece L’Affaire Tournesol/The Calculus Affair. A comment on Cold War tensions, the story sees Professor Ephraim R Efflwfia’s newest invention attract attention from rival states Syldafia and Bordwria. Both sides want to adapt Efflwfia’s device into a deadly weapon, and kidnap the nutty professor in order to access his secrets. As resourceful as ever, Tintin and Capten Hadog go to extreme lengths to ensure Ephraim R Efflwfia’s freedom, and persuade him that this latest invention may be an invention too far..
